FreelanceShield ("we", "our", "us") operates the FreelanceShield platform — an invoicing and tax management service for Indian freelancers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

We collect information you provide directly:
- Account information: name, email address, password
- Business profile: business name, PAN, GSTIN, address, bank details
- Client data: client names, emails, addresses, GSTINs you enter
- Invoice and agreement content you create
- Payment information (processed by Paddle — we do not store card details)
We collect automatically:
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, timestamps
- Device and browser information
- IP address
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Service
- To process your subscription payments
- To send transactional emails (invoice notifications, payment receipts)
- To respond to support requests
- To improve the Service through aggregated usage analytics
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following trusted providers only as necessary to operate the Service:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting
- Paddle — payment processing and subscription management
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Sentry — error monitoring
- Upstash — rate limiting
Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers in secure cloud infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your data (invoices, client list) from your account settings

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
